I am a music obsessive who happens to be a writer. I’ve been lucky enough to make my home in and travel to lots of the most musical places in the Americas, to experience and live inside the rich musical landscape of these great cities: New Orleans, Havana, Chicago, New York, Miami. And the more you learn about each of these places, the more you find out just how historically and culturally connected they are. For me, there is no higher human cultural creation than music, and without song and melody and dance, we are nothing.
